Welcome to Mandinga Ancestral V — a 9-day Capoeira Angola and African Arts festival. The 2026 edition includes Mestre Cabello, Mestre Salim, and guest instructors. Rooted in tradition and carried by community, the festival celebrates the living legacy of Capoeira Angola. 20% of proceeds support Inuka’s free programmes in Kibera.

Hostel-style house in Kibera managed by Program Manager and Capoeira Teaching Artist John Odhiambo. Regularly hosts visitors from Europe and the U.S. on social and non-profit projects.

Modern hotel in accessible Westlands (~5 mins from Salim’s house). Breakfast and dinner at Utamu Restaurant — continental cuisine for a range of diets. Shared or single rooms.
Watamu · Coast
Inside Watamu Marine National Park at the junction of Mida Creek and the Indian Ocean. Coral reef, private beach, traditional Swahili-style rooms — air-conditioned with modern bathrooms and ocean, creek, or garden views from patio or balcony.
